Rendez-vous Halifax Update

CITT/ICTS is looking forward to its 35th Annual Rendez-vous Conference and Trade Show, taking place August 13–16, 2025, at Dalhousie University in Halifax. This year’s event will once again bring together professionals from across Canada’s live performance and production sectors for four days of skills training, sessions, networking, and celebration.

Kicking off the week are hands-on pre-conference training opportunities, presented in partnership with IATSE Canada and The AFC. As part of IATSE Canada’s inaugural Training Hub, delegates can take workshops such as Techniques for Textured Hair (August 13), Introduction to Arena Rigging and Bridle Dynamics (August 15), and Bystander Intervention Training (August 15). The AFC will offer Mental Health and First Aid training on August 13, and ETC will lead an EOS Console Overview session the same day. These offerings reflect CITT/ICTS’s continued commitment to professional development, mental wellness, and equity in the workplace.

Rendez-vous 2025 will include over a dozen professional sessions covering topics such as health & safety, rigging, EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion), virtual reality, and emerging technologies in live performance. Attendees will gain insights from leading voices in the industry and build connections with peers from across Canada and internationally.

A highlight of the conference will be the one-day Trade Show on Thursday, August 14, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Dunn Theatre. Free and open to all, the Trade Show will feature top manufacturers and suppliers in the industry, including GerrAudio Distribution, AVL Media Group, Christie Lites Sales, d&b audiotechnik Canada, Ontario Staging Ltd., JOEL Theatrical Rigging, Elation Professional, and many others! Interested in exhibiting at the trade show? There are still some spots available on the show floor. Visit the website for booth reservation information.

Outside of the classroom, delegates can relax and socialize at various fun and inclusive events, such as the Opening Soirée, Swag Bingo, morning yoga, and informal mixers throughout the week.

The week will conclude with the CITT/ICTS Annual General Meeting and Luncheon, where members are invited to hear about the organization’s ongoing work over the past year, connect with the board, and help shape the future of CITT/ICTS.

Registration is now open, with options for full conference access, day passes, and discounts for students, retired industry professionals, and performing arts organization members. To view the full schedule and register, visit: www.citt.org/annual_conference.html.
