Job Description:

Are you skilled in repairing woodwind and brass instruments? Cosmo Music, a leading music retailer, is seeking to hire Band Instrument Repair Techs who embody our core values of integrity, expertise, support, passion, and fun. We are looking for individuals who have the technical expertise to repair instruments, provide excellent customer support and love working with a large team of repair technicians.

As a Band Instrument Repair Technician at Cosmo Music, you will perform thorough estimates and provide professional repair services on various woodwind and brass instruments. From routine set-ups and cleanings to detailed restorations, you'll be working on a wide range of instruments and continuously developing your skills in a fun and energetic workplace.

Responsibilities:

-         Set-up, clean and repair woodwind and brass instruments.

-         Perform routine maintenance.

-         Inspect instruments to identify repair needs.

-         Provide accurate estimates for instrument repairs.

-         Work efficiently within estimated cost and time frames.

-         Repair or replace defective or worn-out parts and components using hand, power or specially designed tools

-         Handle customer-owned, the rental and store stock instruments with care.

-         Conduct tests and make necessary adjustments to repaired products to ensure proper functionality.

-         Ensure that your work is of excellent quality, reflecting the passion and dedication of our team.

Requirements & Qualifications:

-         Diploma from an accredited repair school

-         Ability to solder, braze, remove dents, align and adjust instruments

-         Familiar with ultrasonic cleaning equipment and process

-         Ability to use a lathe, buffing machines, drill press and milling machine

-         Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude.

-         Strong multitasking and time management skills

-         Physical ability to lift, push, and pull instruments and cases up to 75 pounds,

This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in Richmond Hill, ON. The schedule may vary, including evenings and weekends. We believe in creating a work environment that is not only challenging but also fun and fulfilling.
